Apo (ă’-pŏ)
— The art or process of taking into the mind; mental acceptance.

As a non-Hawaiian with no direct ties to the islands, I am committed to approaching this journey with respect, humility and humbleness.

The Apo section documents my ongoing efforts in embracing Hawaiian 'Ike.' It is divided into two parts,

noʻonoʻo

nvt., Thought, reflection, thinking, meditation; to think, reflect, meditate, concentrate; to consider, as a case at law; thoughtful, mental.

makili ka noʻonoʻo

To "see the light" after not understanding or after being in opposition to an idea.

My Personal reflections and journey on the mental acceptance process, exploring why I embrace 'Ike' and how it is changing me and my perception of life.

manao

n., A thought; an idea; a plan; a device; a purpose; a counsel; a strategem; manao kiekie, a high thought; pride; manao io, faith; belief; confidence; manao oiaio, same as manao io; manao kuko, lust; manao lana, hope; expectation; manao akamai, spirit of wisdom.

ho'o-mă'-na'o

Literally to cause a thought. To turn the mind upon; to call to mind; to cause to consider; to remember.
